Lagos Bans Okada Ride By Pregnant Women, School Children

Lagos State Government[Nigeria] has set July 1 for the full enforcement of road traffic laws and regulations guiding motorcycle taxi (Okada) operation, and it will be illegal from that date for school children, pregnant women, and women with babies strapped on their backs to use this mode of transport.

PERSONALLY, i believe It may be difficult to implement the law, however, because motorcycle taxi is the fastest and most common means of transport, not just in Lagos but countrywide, except where it is banned.

According to Special Adviser on Transportation, Kayode Opeifa: “Nobody below 18 years should ride on motorcycle, no horn except that of motorcycle should be fixed on the motorcycle, no car stereo should be used and no motorcycle should ply a dual carriage way,”

So...guys, what are your views on this one? workable??? or just an effort in futility???
