The woman you may know for stalking and disturbing Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, Sussane Ibru has been convicted of harassment and arrested earlier today.
Ibru visited the Englishman’s neighbourhood in Alderley Edge twice, coming at his front door at night demanding to talk to the 32-year-old, not only disturbing him, but also his wife and two young children, as the family was asleep when the incident happened for the first time. 38-year-old Ibru travelled all the way from Peckham, South London, meaning she had to go 400 miles to get there.
Ferdinand stated: “At first I was angry and upset but then disturbed, really, because I have got a young family and this was not the time or the place to be coming to speak to me.”
His wife Rebecca Ferdinand was supposed to be called as a witness but was excused as she gave birth to their third child, but the defender was very well capable to defend himself as she asked him: “Do you think that amounts to harassment?”
Ferdinand replied: “Yes.”
He then went on by saying: “I called the police because I didn’t want you at my house.”
The things ended up pretty interesting as, while walking out of the court, Ibru said: “I’ll see you soon, bye.”
Judging by the judge’s words she won’t be disturbing him in the future after all, as he said while sentencing her: “Mr Ferdinand is a high-profile footballer and whilst there will always be occasions where he is exposed to public and press scrutiny, the fact is that when he is in the privacy of his own home with his family he has a right to expect to be left alone.”
