New Governor of Osun State, Engineer Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, yesterday in Osogbo took oath of office amidst celebration by his supporters and announced a six-point agenda that would form the focus of his administration.
The agenda include free and qualitative education, restoration for basic health system, war against poverty and hunger, unemployment, modern town planning and urban development. He also said the development of the cradle of Yorubaland would be vigorously pursued by his administration.
The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by prominent individuals from different parts of the country. They include Governors Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, (Lagos), Olukayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo) and Adams Oshiomhole (Edo); Chief Olusegun Osoba, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Ambassador Bamidele Olumilua, Chief Mrs. Abimbola Fashola, Chief Remi Tinubu, Dr. Chris Ngige, Senators Ganiyu Solomon and Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe State.
Others are former Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Barrister Opeyemi Bamidele, Mr. Dele Alake, Mr. Tunji Bello, Dr. Muiz Banire and party stalwarts amongst others.
