Rumour has it that, One 8, a new music supergroup comprising some of the biggest stars from across Africa is in the making. The group would put together hit songs, music videos, and an album for a music campaign in Africa.
Artists signed so far to the ONE8 Group are Alikiba (Tanzania)JK (Zambia) Navio (Uganda) and 4×4 (Ghana). There are also rumours suggesting that other artists currently in negotiation to join the group include Nigeria – 2Face, Amani – Kenya, Movaizhaleine – Gabon and Fally Ipupa – DRC
According to reports, Rockstar4000 and Sony Music are the recording companies behind campaign and although the official websites for these record labels remain silent on the campaign, they are expected to release an official statement soon.
The One 8 music campaign would soon be recruiting some of the biggest West African acts onto the project. Names such as P-Square, Samini and D’Banj are suspected to be on the list.
Meanwhile news coming in from the record labels behind the 0ne8 campaign indicates that Rockstar4000 Record label heads out to Chicago to lock down the major International superstar, producer and Video director for the ONE8 group hit song. Also, famous International act to join the group on their hit song would be announced soon. But big names such as Chris Brown, Rhianna, Pink have been hinted.
